Hello, we are Donna and Alison and together we run Rosemary and Time.  We come from very different career backgrounds, have quite individual skill sets, but share a deep desire to be of value to our community.  We also have the same birthday!  Maybe that is why we work so happily together.

Rosemary and Time is a Community Interest Company based in Lancashire, supporting people living with dementia and their families through meaningful, creative and joyful activities.  We believe that a diagnosis of dementia doesn't mean that life stops.  Everyone still deserves to laugh, connect, belong and be seen for who they are.

Our groups are built around friendship, purpose and fun.  From singing and drumming, to gardening, crafts and social activities, everything we do is designed to bring people together and create moments that matter.

Why Rosemary & Time?

Rosemary is a symbol of remembrance and Time reminds us that every moment matters.  Together they represent what we stand for - honouring memories, making the most of today and building connections that last.

My background is in social and therapeutic horticulture - in a nutshell, using gardening to make people's day a little better. Rosemary and Time started out as simple gardening project, but over the years has developed into something much bigger.  This was purely down to us seeing a need in our local community and trying to fulfil it.

I love my job.  I love meeting all the wonderful people that come to our groups who quite frankly make every day unpredictable and often filled with raucous laughter.

My background was in education before setting up a small business with my husband, selling dog food and treats.  It was through this that I met Donna, so when the time came to sell our business and try a new challenge, Rosemary and Time seemed like the opportunity I was waiting for.

I absolutely love this job, it is like the dream job I always wanted but never knew I needed.  The best thing is the joy in people's eyes as they connect with each other, especially through music.

Our Fabulous Volunteers

Rosemary and Time could not operate without our team of volunteers.

They help with everything from brew making and cake slicing (probably the most important role in the whole organisation) to greeting our members and dancing a mean jive with them!
