We Only Went and Won GOLD!
What an experience Chorley Flower Show was for Rosemary & Time CIC!
We were absolutely thrilled to take our very own community garden to the show, inspired by the musical film The Color Purple. But our choice of purple was about more than the film. Purple is widely recognised as a symbol of dementia awareness, making it a meaningful colour for us and the work we do supporting people affected by dementia.
After lots of hard work, planning and getting stuck in, we brought our little garden to life with support from the lovely team at So Plants.
And then came the news… we won GOLD!
We could hardly believe it! Donna worked incredibly hard to bring the garden together, and we're so proud of what she achieved. A huge thank you to everyone who helped, supported and encouraged us along the way.
For us, gardening has always been about so much more than plants. It's about connection, wellbeing, having a purpose, learning new things and enjoying time together. Taking our garden to Chorley Flower Show gave us a wonderful opportunity to share a little of what Rosemary & Time is all about with the wider community.
Bringing home a Gold Award was the icing on the cake — and you know how much we love cake at Rosemary & Time!
We'll always remember our time at Chorley Flower Show as a very special moment in our journey. It reminded us what can happen when people come together, share their skills and turn an idea into something truly special.

Finalists in Lancashire’s Make A Difference Awards 2025 💜
We were absolutely delighted to be named finalists in Lancashire’s Make A Difference Awards 2025 and what a fabulous afternoon we had!
We attended the awards ceremony at Burnley Mechanics, where we had the pleasure of hearing about the incredible people and organisations making a real difference in communities across Lancashire.
The stories shared were inspiring, heartwarming and a wonderful reminder of just how much kindness, dedication and community spirit there is all around us. It was lovely to celebrate alongside so many people who are passionate about helping others.
We were lucky enough to take two very special people with us — our wonderful volunteer Lynn and our member Gerry, who is affected by dementia. It was lovely to share the experience together and make some special memories along the way.
We also enjoyed meeting the fabulous presenters from BBC Radio Lancashire, making the afternoon even more memorable!
Although we didn’t bring home an award this time, being named finalists was a huge honour for Rosemary & Time CIC and a real boost for our small team.
Every week, we see the difference that feeling welcome, valued and included can make. It’s the friendships that grow, the laughter around the table, the singing and those little moments of connection that remind us why Rosemary & Time matters.
A huge thank you to everyone who supports us, from our wonderful volunteers and members to their families and community partners. This recognition belongs to all of you too!
We came away feeling proud, inspired and grateful to be part of such a caring community. What a fabulous afternoon!
